Award-Winning Milestone: Design Middle East Awards 2026

The Qiddiya Welcome Center stands as a landmark achievement in contemporary architectural lighting for large-scale mega-developments in Saudi Arabia. Developed in partnership with Naif Al Rajhi Investment – KSP, the project’s innovative design language has been highly celebrated by the international design community:

Qiddiya Center Architectural Lighting Design & Vision

The core design challenge was to create an iconic nighttime identity for the welcoming gateway that supports intuitive orientation, spatial clarity, and a premium guest arrival experience. Because the center acts as the initial touchpoint for a massive urban development, the exterior lighting had to feel both grand and tightly integrated with the building’s physical geometry.

  • Facade Composition & Scale: The lighting strategy treats the facade as a dynamic canvas. Instead of flooding the structure with flat light, we composed precise layers of illumination that trace the architectural form, emphasizing its structural mass and depth across the night landscape.

  • The Landscape-to-Facade Transition: The exterior lighting maps a continuous visual journey. The landscape illumination subtly builds a sense of arrival, using controlled glare and precise beam angles to safely guide visitors while effortlessly drawing the eye up toward the main facade focal points.

  • Engineering-Led Collaboration: To translate these complex conceptual ideas into physical reality, the Aluzo team worked step by step in close technical coordination with MASQ. This shared expertise ensured total precision during the engineering and fixture specification phases, preserving the strict minimalist design intent from concept to final site commissioning.
