The Diplomatic Club Spa received the 2024 MUSE Design Award in the Architectural Lighting category, recognizing its thoughtful integration of light, wellness, and spatial experience.

A harmonious balance between relaxation and sophistication, the lighting concept was developed to reflect the primary function of each space. Soft, warm illumination is employed throughout the spa to create a sense of tranquility and comfort while maintaining an atmosphere of understated elegance.

At the heart of the design is a featured luminaire inspired by the phases of the moon. This metamorphic light object combines physical transformation with dynamic light modulation. When closed, it appears as a minimal line of light; when activated, its flexible circular form bends inward to reveal the source. Through a mechanism that adjusts light intensity, the fixture creates a range of visual effects that enhance the immersive experience of the space.

The lighting design aims to transport guests into a realm of relaxation and indulgence, creating a memorable wellness environment through carefully considered layers of light and shadow.

Lighting strategies were tailored to the specific requirements of each area. In the gym, linear accent lighting creates a dynamic and well-lit environment while ensuring uniform light distribution across the space.

In contrast, the massage rooms, sauna, and jacuzzi areas were designed around a calmer and more restorative atmosphere. Soft indirect lighting and low ambient illumination promote relaxation, while fiber optic installations evoke the effect of a star-filled night sky, reinforcing a sense of serenity and escape.
