NARJIS BUSINESS PARK

The Lighting Concept & Architectural Vision

The contemporary architecture of Narjis Business Park (Narjis View) in Riyadh embodies the essence of simplicity, modernity, and structural contrast. Our lighting design approach was carefully engineered to complement this vision, using a subtle yet impactful scheme that works in perfect harmony with the building’s clean lines.

Through a contrast-focused lighting strategy, the building’s architectural elements are emphasized after sunset, establishing an alluring nighttime environment that reinforces its visual identity.

  • Facade Contrast & Depth: The facade lighting focuses on establishing contrasting layers that distinguish this commercial landmark in an elegant, understated way. Skillfully positioned, integrated light sources emphasize unique textures and structural lines, adding dramatic depth through the interplay of warm and cool color temperatures.

  • Landscape & Visitor Journey: In the surrounding landscape, the lighting creates an engaging, interactive visual experience. By strategically illuminating key pathways and gathering zones, the general lighting establishes a cohesive visual connection between the exterior architecture and the surrounding urban environment.

MASAT PARK MALL

Masat Mall in Makkah represents a new era of experiential retail, where architectural lighting acts as a sensory narrator. Designed by Aluzo, the scheme seamlessly bridges the high-energy external boulevard with the grand interior atriums.

The facade tells a multi-sensory story of the Saudi landscape across three thematic acts: the Mountain (ambient floral hues), the Oasis (a calm, warm retreat), and the Red Sea (slow, kinetic waves). Inside, soaring atriums feature towering Jacaranda sculptures highlighted by dramatic spotlighting, culminating in a synchronized, hourly five-minute dynamic show.

True to Aluzo’s sustainable ethos, the entire project prioritizes technical restraint. By utilizing warm, deeply shielded anti-glare luminaires and smart control schedules, we achieved maximum energy savings while protecting Makkah’s night sky.

The volumes are visually connected by their spiraling pattern, and physically by a base volume, that combines the 10 towers together.

Our design is inspired from natures powerful element “Wind” the tornado effect shows a continuity of effect on the façade and showcases the facades as one element.

The vertical treatment will be to the close by viewer, providing an experience that accentuates the height of the building. People will be drawn to look up, to the moving effects.

By creating two effects the scenarios will be personalized to each point of view.

For closer viewing points, the LED Mesh will have smaller Pitch on the vertical side allowing for a screen for people nearest to the Towers.

The second option would be an integrated recessed diffused walkover uplights which makes it optimal fixture for pathway, gathering areas

Palm trees present a challenge for lighting because the area to be illuminated is tall and narrow. It requires precise light distributions providing light onto the target surface. Spike projectors will be placed in the planter box to highlight the trees and spread the overall light in the space.

For the architectural elements, the Use of dynamic LED lighting to illuminate the mall’s exterior, allows for color-changing effects and seasonal themes. Also, by Utilizing a combination of general and accent lighting emphasizes merchandise and create a comfortable shopping environment. The accent lighting creates a striking first impression.
